Ministers of Reencounter Training: Volunteering to Support Distressed Marriages

March 9

Join the Mission to Restore Hope & Heal — New Parish Resource for Distressed Marriages
Did you know that 1/3 of marriages are currently facing challenges? In response, the Archdiocesan Family Life Office extends vital resources to parish communities, offering swift support for spouses in distressed marriages. Trained Ministers of Reencounter, inspired by Christian faith and love for God, actively assist couples, optimizing peace and empowering them to face difficulties with strength and love. They provide formative guidance rooted in Catholic teachings, emphasizing accompaniment for a joyful and fruitful relationship within our Archdiocese.

We need your help! We are in critical need of Ministers of Reencounter to support spouses in distressed marriages through SmartLoving’s BreakThrough program. The training is open to Catholic adults, whether clergy or lay individuals, proficient in English, bilingual, or Spanish. Desired attributes include empathy, unbiased care, listening skills, and a mature Catholic faith, with a particular emphasis on a desire to grow deeper in faith. This training also presents an ideal opportunity to contribute to a deacon’s continuous formation. Consider referring individuals who embody these qualities to attend the following:
• BreakThrough Information Session: Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. for questions and to learn more about the program before the training. Click here to join the meeting.
