Supplemental Food Program

To meet the food needs during this time of inflation and the increased demands for food assistance, clients will be able to make curbside food pickup appointments to our Food Pantry once per month until further notice.  To enroll, clients must qualify based on income and place of residency.  We are changing the qualification period from a 6-month period to a 12-month period (July 1 through June 30).

Early enrollment begins the last two weeks of June with enrollment continuing through April.  All clients previously enrolled in SFP will have to resubmit documents for re-enrollment in June or July of every year.  New clients are encouraged to enroll in SFP to continue receiving a seven-day food order once per month.

There are changes in our Supplemental Food Program to continue to meet the growing number of requests for assistance and our resources.  The changes begin on July 1, 2024.  The changes include:

  1. Clients enrolled will have one curbside appointment/visit per month.  Clients who find themselves in a situation needing additional assistance should come to the Drive-thru Food Distribution every 2nd Saturday from 8 am to 10 am from November through June and 7:30 am to 9:30 am from July through October.
  2. This qualification period runs from July 2024 through June 2025.  New clients enrolling and qualifying during early enrollment will be eligible for food assistance in June 2024.

Please remember that we want to help you. However, we have a very small staff and limited resources (food and money).  We provide food assistance to people living in the 77070, 77069, 77068, 77066, 77014, 77064, and 77065 zip code areas.  If you are an active member/parishioner of Prince of Peace Church (POP) and live outside the service area, please let us know!

We ask that you respect our zip code boundaries, our process, and our need to ask for proper identification / documentation for qualification.  We are always happy to refer you to other organizations in your area that help.  Simply ask if you need referral assistance. Please remember that we want to help you.
