Prayer Vigil for Fr. Luis Armas

June 28 - 30, 10:00 am - 9:00 am  |  St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church

7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379, USA

Many of you may remember Fr. Luis Armas, who spent a summer with us here at Prince of Peace while he was a seminarian. It has been such a gift to watch his journey to the priesthood, and today we ask our parish family to surround him with prayer.

On Monday, June 29, Fr. Luis will undergo a very serious surgery that carries significant risks. As he prepares for this difficult day, let us lift him up to the Lord and ask for healing, peace, courage, and the loving protection of our Blessed Mother. Please also pray for his family, his parish community at St. Ignatius, and for the surgeons and medical team who will care for him.

Fr. Luis will receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during the 10 am Mass on Sunday, June 28, at St. Ignatius. Following the 5:15 pm Life Teen Mass, the parish will begin a Eucharistic Prayer Vigil that will continue throughout the night as he prepares for surgery. After the morning Mass on Monday, the Blessed Sacrament will remain exposed throughout the day and night while Fr. Luis undergoes surgery and begins his recovery. The vigil will conclude with the 9 am Mass on Tuesday, June 30.

As one Church and one family in Christ, let us entrust Fr. Luis to the Lord, who never leaves His children. May he know the strength of our prayers and the peace that comes from Christ’s loving presence.

Jesus, Divine Physician, we place Fr. Luis into Your hands. Bring him healing, protect him throughout his surgery, guide every member of his medical team, and fill him with Your perfect peace. May our Blessed Mother wrap him in her mantle of protection. We ask all these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
