Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)

“When I was on bedrest in the hospital during my second pregnancy, an EMHC would come to my hospital bed and give me the Body of Christ every day. Because of this great blessing, I chose to serve as an EMHC to pay it forward and to bring God closer to the people who are needing Him most. I always look forward to Sunday Mass and the opportunity to serve in this role that God has chosen for me.”

“I believe that everyone should consider becoming an EMHC. It is a simple yet profoundly rewarding act of charity and service to God and the Church. There is no need for special skills or public speaking, just a willingness to follow the protocols and share the Holy Communion with others. As a role model for my children, I hope to instill in them the importance of being involved in our faith, and being an EMHC is a wonderful way to demonstrate that commitment.”

‘I serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion because I felt like God was calling me to do more than just in the pews and watch everything and instead be a part of the Mass as an EMHC. Serving as an EMHC is easy because we have a great online system of scheduling to where if you can’t be at your assigned Mass, it is easy to find a sub. I find it very fulfilling, and when you serve, you just feel this closer sense with God that I just can’t put into words.”
